macOS menu bar app

CodeBarAI

Your AI usage limits and your Git repositories, always in view from the macOS menu bar.

01

What it is

CodeBarAI is a menu bar app for developers who code with AI tools. It shows how much usage you have left in Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, and lets you review changes, commit, and push across your repositories without leaving what you are doing. It has no external dependencies and writes commit messages with Apple's on-device models.

  • Remaining usage for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor
  • Real-time change detection
  • Commit and push from the menu bar
  • On-device commit message generation
  • Warnings before pushing sensitive data
  • Quick access to Cursor, Terminal, and Finder

How to contribute

On top of the general guidelines, CodeBarAI has its own rules:

  • Keep the app free of external dependencies.
  • Follow the existing style with small, focused types.
  • Document the privacy impact of any change to credential handling.
  • Test against real repositories, including failure cases.

Help us improve CodeBarAI.

Report bugs, propose features, or send a pull request. Every contribution is welcome.
